Description

The 2005 brilliant uncirculated five pound crown (quintuple Sovereign) is sealed in its own protective perspex capsule and is housed in it a Royal Mint presentation case. The all important original Certificate of Authenticity is also included.

The obverse face of the 2005 £5 Crown carries the image of Her Majesty, The Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley. The reverse shows the one-off design by Timothy Noad, depicting his interpretation of the battle of St. George slaying the dragon.

The Certificate of Authenticity states the following on Timothy Noad:

As an elected Fellow of the Society of Scribes and Illustrators, Timothy Noad is a highly respected and internationally recognised heraldic artist and calligrapher. In his new design for 2005, he concentrated on the drama between the three protagonists : St. George, his horse and the dragon.

According to the Royal Mint, 1,500 brilliant uncirculated £5 Crowns were authorised for issue, with just 936 being sold.
