Description
In 2014, The Royal Mint incorrectly struck a very small number of Sovereigns. Whilst the obverse face is struck to BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) quality, the reverse face is of proof quality.
This coin has been slabbed, certified and graded by PCGS. At the time of listing this coin, PCGS have just 15 examples of this error recorded, with 11 at this grade (PR69).
A very rare opportunity to acquire a modern Royal Mint mule error.
The reverse features Pistrucci’s iconic image of St. George slaying the dragon, whilst the obverse face features the image of Her Majesty The Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley. Struck in 22ct gold, the Sovereign weighs 7.98g in weight and 22.05mm in diameter.
