A few variations of the 1820 sovereign exist. The example shown in the photos above is of the most common, standard version. The variations center around the style of the date on the obverse face of the coin. These include the use of a Roman letter 'I' in place of the number '1', a smaller '0' and the height of the whole date being shorter.
Other variations of the date do exist, so compare your coin to the photos above. These variations do increase the value of the coin to a greater or lesser degree.
