The mintage figure quoted includes both the 'bare head' and 'laurette head' designs. The bare head Sovereign carries a crowned shield on the reverse, whilst the laurette head Sovereign has Pistrucci's St. George slaying the dragon design.
Of the two designs, the 1825 laurette head Sovereign is the most scarce.
